There should be a "scanner" group (or alike) that has rw privileges on the above-mentioned file, which can be detected by a hotplug script or something. In this scenario root only has to "adduser auser scanner" to give auser permissions to use the scanner. (or fglrx) if yes, then do pacman -Sy --noconfirm nvidia (or fglrx) after kernel or x packages are upgraded (so in postinst) This is usefull, no need to avoid user messages, that : again, we need to upgrade nvidia package ... again again :) Someone should implement this before 0.2 final release.
