From bozo at dev.null Tue Nov 1 18:10:07 2005 From: bozo at dev.null (Frugalware Bug Tracking System) Date: Tue Nov 1 18:10:13 2005 Subject: [Frugalware-bugs] wlan-ng fits to old kernel Message-ID: <20051101171008.91E2DFA0025@genesis.frugalware.org> package wlan-ng fits to kernel version 2.6.13-fw1 not to 2.6.13-fw2 which is the official kernel version of stable branch Is there a mechanism to recompile such packages when kernel version changes? I think more packages contain kernel modules, so this problem potentially relates to other packages too. <20051102152006.7A2C5FA0025@genesis.frugalware.org> I frequently use .par2 files for checking archives. Actually i use QuickPar with wine, but there is a soft under linux: par2cmdline (http://parchive.sourceforge.net/#client_par2cmdline) and i can't install it... Someone can add it on the distrib for install it with pacman? I think it will be good to make it, but im not so good... A short example how bad it is without the aliases : root user : Let we say you are user root and want delete some libfoo.so~ (bak file) in /usr/lib but you type rm * or rm libfoo.so~, and not rm *~ in this case the whole folder is deleted. ( really bad) normal user : Let we say you have a 10Gig (:p) MP3 folder and want to delet an annoying song but you type as well rm * .Start crying because everything in the foder is gone :p ( that is not bad for the system but the user ) A very easy fix for that is to add some aliases in profile script for rm / cp and mv. Also : alias rm='rm -i' alias cp='cp -i' alias mv='mv -i' -i menas "interactive" which will aks you befor deleting. Some other thing is someone should really do an ./configure --help and look what else could be added to bash ( and there are a lot options which are not included ad default to ./configure ) crazy URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/?do=details&do=details&id=196 From bozo at dev.null Thu Nov 3 15:20:06 2005 From: bozo at dev.null (Frugalware Bug Tracking System) Date: Thu Nov 3 15:20:09 2005 Subject: [Frugalware-bugs] Some things to the *.install scripts Message-ID: <20051103142006.6C3D3FA0025@genesis.frugalware.org> Hi, while I've builded the whole Kde / qt pkgs in chroot I noticed there are some "*.install scripts errors".Near all gnome apps have it and near all daemons.
