pdftk does not work, and I get this error: pdftk: error while loading shared 
libraries: libgcj.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or 
directory /usr/lib contains the file libgcj.so.7 I think pdftk just needs to be 
rebuilt against the new library. Cheers

i've tried UC (http://ultimatecommander.org/Main_Page), compiled successfully 
but at runtime failed to look up an icon. I've contacted the author and he said 
this is a distro specific problem (he has reports about success from debian, 
ubuntu and some other distros so far). Namely, -according to his explanation- 
the icons under /usr/share/icons/gnome/* should be under 
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/*. To reinforce his point of view, he cited the 
following freedesktop document:

have no wide knowledge of GUI standards but the icon's placements look a bit 
weird: some icons under hicolor/AxB/somedir and some are under gnome, in both 
places there are gnome-specific icons too. May the solution is putting 
everything under /hicolor and changing /gnome to a symlink pointing to 
whatever, ex. "hicolor"?

I have a Canon digtal camera which does not work as an usb-drive. The only way 
to use it is via gphoto2. For to use it as a normal user I should have rw 
permission for the device files in /proc/bus/usb Presently they are owned by 
root and have mode 644, so in the default install only root can use gphoto2. 
Now I replaced usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0 to usbfs /proc/bus/usb 
usbfs devgid=23,devmode=664 0 0 in /etc/fstab, and now it is owned by the 
camera group, and everything is o.k. This may not be good for others maybe a 
new usb group could own these device files. The solution is up to you, I just 
wanted other frugalware users to have some fix for the problem. Thanks

Hi! Just hacked together a simple FrugalBuild script to build the linuxdcpp 
client over at http://linuxdcpp.berlios.de/ . I have had much better success 
with this client than the Valknut client, so have a look at it. It uses 'scons' 
for compilation. I am not sure how to put all the dependencies in the build 
file though - the linuxdcpp README mentions: Gtk+ 2.6 libglade 2.4 libgnome 
(Required by libglade on some systems it seems) pthread zlib libbz2 scons g++ 
>= 3.4 (Yes, this is REQUIRED for succesfull compilation!) Also, the build 
commands could be cleaner I guess. Come to think about it, its a pretty shitty 
build for a program that deserves a much better one :-)

Hi! I have a very strange problem, which may or may not actually be a 
Frugalware problem. I have a Swedish keyboard with all special keys set up and 
working, like "? ? ? ?" etc, except for one application, called "tnt". 
This is a closed source terminal program for bioinformatics. In tnt, the 
backspace or erase key only works if I use xterm or Eterm, so I wonder if xterm 
and Eterm somehow gets a special treatment by the system, as compared to the 
other ones? I've tried konsole, aterm, rxvt so far. Any ideas?

Hi. The -current fluxbox (0.9.15.1-1) isn't working correct. Anti aliasing 
isn't working. I'm not able to change the fonts. And german umlauts are not 
shown. The last one can be solved if we build fluxbox with --disable-xmb. But I 
can't find a solution for the first two problems.

its a pptp daemon for linux/*nix. i checked and kernel mppe and pppd's config 
is good. A FB for 0.4 is attached, i've built the pkg and worksforme. it was 
necessary to use the latest even they mark it experimental, beacuse of gcc 
fixes (according to the changelog, it's more a bugfix & maintenance release 
than a feature blow).

assertion `GDK_IS_GC (gc)' failed And a window blinks up then vanishes. I have 
thought of some dependency problems, but couldn't find any package in the repos 
to solve this. (or was I only too blind to find it?) Thanks.

On Fugalware-current but also in Frugalware-stable(0.4) the hald system doesn't 
works. At the boot moment its status is [OK] (also for HAL daemon) but in truth 
it doesn't work. Also when I want to start "gnome-volume-manager", this 
software gives to me (from terminal): -- gnome-volume-manager: error while 
loading shared libraries: libdbus-glib-1.so.1: cannot open shared object file: 
No such file or directory -- Perhaps these problems are linked?

When we change the LANG variable in /etc/profile.d/lang.sh to tr_TR pacman 
returns the error: "error: config: line 11: syntax error error: no usable 
package repositories configured." I think this is because we have both "i" and 
"?" letteres. So we also have "?" and "I" letters,too. No problem when we 
change only CHARSET to our charset which is iso8859-9. The problem is only 
produced when we change the LANG variable.

Firefox (all versions afaik) Choose a random file > Right-click 'Save 
target/image as' Save it with the original file name. Try to save it again: 
DIALOG1 - The usual GTK file dialog pops up with filename, path etc. Click 
'Save'. DIALOG2 - 'File already exists. Overwrite?' Choose 'No'. Both DIALOG1 
and DIALOG2 disappear. I would like DIALOG1 to stay there and give me the 
option to change the file name if I choose No in DIALOG2. Maybe it is rather a 
GTK related problem, but it annoys me the most in Firefox. The problem does not 
appear, for example, in the GIMP, it seems to use different dialogs and if I 
choose 'Cancel' in a similar situation, it drops me back to the previous dialog 
with the filename (as desired). Thanks! LGee

When I do a pacman -Syu, I always see this: :: Replace links with 
frugalware-current/elinks? [Y/n] No I do not want to replace links with elinks. 
Links has a graphical browser that elinks doesn't have (using links -g). 
Because it has this additional functionality, I don't think elinks should 
replace links. :)

webmin, and its associate usermin, are pretty standard programs that are used 
to configure a computer acting as a server. Webmin: http://www.webmin.com/ 
Usermin: http://www.webmin.com/index6.html I think frugalware would benefit 
from their inclusion. I am not sure of this, but I have a feeling they would 
need to be customized a fair bit to configure the location of config files 
etc.? Also, if they are to be implemented, I think it would be nice if it were 
done so using the pretty patches found here: 
http://www.stress-free.co.nz/content/view/141/2/ This is a project that 
improves the look and feel of webmin without changing the underlying 
functionality or code. Cheers

I have one problem. I am using Furgalware 0.4 - netinstall(current), xfce4 - 
4.2.3.1 from current branch. When i add on xfce4-panel weather update and 
configure it and then close the configure window, the whole panel miss. When i 
run it with Alt+F2 - xfce4-panel and do it one more time the problem is still. 
I looked on quite near problem in reported bugs, but i decide to report this 
too. (VMiklos said me to report it) Ok, i hope that this problem will be solved 
with new version of the Frugalware. I must applasue the Frugalware Develop

Subject: [Frugalware-bugs] Terminal Apps in KDE dropping characters

I am running frugalware-current. When I open a terminal up in KDE (such as 
aterm), characters are dropped when I type them at the bash command prompt. It 
does not make any difference what terminal I use. I must type very slowly or I 
will loose characters. I don't have this problem if I type into a window of a 
NON-terminal application such as abiword or openoffice. If I switch to a 
different window manager such as xfce, I don't have this problem. Characters 
are not dropped when I type into a terminal window such as aterm. Since I like 
the command prompt, KDE is pretty much useless to me at this time. Any ideas?

I did a fresh install with the 
http://www5.frugalware.org/linux/frugalware/pub/frugalware/frugalware-current-iso/frugalware-20060520-i686-net.iso. 
The installation process went smoothly so far, but there was an error message 
concerning my drives (ntfs) and after the installation the /etc/fstab file had 
"(null)" entries where it should read "ntfs"; ext3 partitions were found 
correctly. This bahaviour is new and did not occur in a previous installation 
with the 0.4 netinstall.

I got all the dependencies and installed gyachi. The installation seemed to go 
well. Gyachi opens but when I start voice I get the following message:**

then when I try to turn it on I get: Library tssoft32.acm is not a valid

I got all the dependencies and installed gyachi. The installation seemed to go 
well. Gyachi opens but when I start voice I get the following message:**

then when I try to turn it on I get: Library tssoft32.acm is not a valid 
VfW/ACM codec invalid codec I notice the pixmap files are present in the gyachi 
folder. Any ideas on what might have gone wrong?

I did a fresh install with the 
http://www5.frugalware.org/linux/frugalware/pub/frugalware/frugalware-current-iso/frugalware-20060520-i686-net.iso. 
The installation process went smoothly so far, but there was an error message 
concerning my drives (ntfs) and after the installation the /etc/fstab file had 
"(null)" entries where it should read "ntfs"; ext3 partitions were found 
correctly. This bahaviour is new and did not occur in a previous installation 
with the 0.4 netinstall.

from their inclusion. I am not sure of this, but I have a feeling they would 
need to be customized a fair bit to configure the location of config files

I have one problem. I am using Furgalware 0.4 - netinstall(current), xfce4 - 
4.2.3.1 from current branch. When i add on xfce4-panel weather update and 
configure it and then close the configure window, the whole panel miss. When i 
run it with Alt+F2 - xfce4-panel and do it one more time the problem is still. 
I looked on quite near problem in reported bugs, but i decide to report this 
too. (VMiklos said me to report it) Ok, i hope that this problem will be solved 
with new version of the Frugalware. I must applasue the Frugalware Develop

Firefox (all versions afaik) Choose a random file > Right-click 'Save 
target/image as' Save it with the original file name. Try to save it again: 
DIALOG1 - The usual GTK file dialog pops up with filename, path etc. Click 
'Save'. DIALOG2 - 'File already exists. Overwrite?' Choose 'No'. Both DIALOG1 
and DIALOG2 disappear. I would like DIALOG1 to stay there and give me the 
option to change the file name if I choose No in DIALOG2. Maybe it is rather a 
GTK related problem, but it annoys me the most in Firefox. The problem does not 
appear, for example, in the GIMP, it seems to use different dialogs and if I 
choose 'Cancel' in a similar situation, it drops me back to the previous dialog 
with the filename (as desired). Thanks! LGee

On Fugalware-current but also in Frugalware-stable(0.4) the hald system doesn't 
works. At the boot moment its status is [OK] (also for HAL daemon) but in truth 
it doesn't work. Also when I want to start "gnome-volume-manager", this 
software gives to me (from terminal): -- gnome-volume-manager: error while 
loading shared libraries: libdbus-glib-1.so.1: cannot open shared object file: 
No such file or directory -- Perhaps these problems are linked?

wine 0.9.13 was showing ms true type fonts but not the updated wine-0.9.14-1. I 
reported to the ies4linux owner:

wine 0.9.14 is working fine with ubuntu. You can use ies4linux for quick look 
at true type fonts with internet explorer using wine:

just ies4linux, but installing microsoft office 2000, also has the font

doesn't install ms-office 2000. thanks.
