When I'm for example writing a mail with Kmail, and I choose spell checker from menu it tells me the following message: "ISpell/Aspell could not be started. Please make sure you have ISpell or Aspell properly configured and in your PATH." I didn't understand this error, because aspell is installed on my system and in KDE's Control Centrel it is chosen for spell checking. >From console I was able to run aspell. With Google I found that on Kubuntu there will be the same error if ispell is not installed on the system. (So both ispell and aspell must be installed). (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=29824) In Frugalware there is only aspell, I could not find ispell package in repo. Therefore I made a simlink to /usr/bin/aspell and now spell checking is working! This is an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU with 4GB of RAM. I get all the way to the point of "choosing a mirror" and immediately after hitting "OK" I get a segfault. I have fished around in the VT's and found no signs of failure. The last thing the installer does is a 'netconfig start'. Assuming this was a networking issue I also attempted to ping a few things outside of my network, and had no problems doing so. The net connection, driver, etc. all seem to be working good. I can provide more clues if someone can guide me to collecting them. I have tried to compile this myself from source, but it failed miserably and I don't have the talent to fix it. It seems to rely on older libs and probably an older gcc branch. If someone could make it work and add the package - I would be very greatful!! More info: http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/en/projects/nspluginwrapper "nspluginwrapper is an Open Source compatibility plugin for Netscape 4 (NPAPI) plugins. That is, it enables you to use plugins on platforms they were not built for. For example, you can use the Adobe Flash plugin on Linux/x86_64, NetBSD and FreeBSD platforms." How? after restarting alsa (stop; sleep 1; start), and running alsamixer, I note that my option is not there. On the other hand, when passing the option manually (on the command line) then my sound card works as it is expected. Here is the manual load of the option: modprobe -r snd-hda-intel; modprobe snd-hda-intel model=asus-laptop More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=2626 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. A new Flyspray task has been opened. Details are below. User who did this - Ray Dios Haque (RayHaque) Attached to Project - Frugalware Summary - Need ia32-libs and/or ia32-libs-dev for full application compatibility Task Type - Feature Request Category - Libraries Status - Unconfirmed Assigned To - Operating System - x86_64 Severity - Medium Priority - Normal Reported Version - -current Due in Version - Undecided Due Date - Undecided Details - Without ia32-libs for 64 bit frugalware, many applications cannot/will not run on the 64 bit platform. One example is VMWare. This product has a 64 bit linux version - but requires the 32 bit libs to boot up 32 bit virtual PC's. Also - nspluginwrapper requires ia32-libs to compile cleanly. Having this application would allow 32 bit browser plugins such as Adobe Flash Player to run natively on a 64 bit platform.
