Thus far, the only unusual cause-effect relationship is this: Installing 0.9 stable and upgrading to current ends up with the wine package having a slow startup. Installing 0.8 stable and upgrading to current ends up with the wine package having a normal startup speed. Not sure if it is related, but I'm running AMD powered hardware. I replicated this 'problem' on both my HP laptop and custom-built desktop, both of which use AMD processors. I did this test on real hardware, not in a virtual machine. Anyone else having issues similar to this are asked to report it here. I sure hope we can find the real cause... I have HP Deskjet F2280. If I install printer from browser web (http://localhost:631) the printer (HP1) works but HP Device manager doesn't recognize it. If I install it also with HP Device manager (HP2) I can't print: Device communication error. http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/3724/hperrorwi9.jpg However I see level of ink http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1701/hpok1um1.jpg If before I try print with HP2 (it doesn't works) after again HP1 doen't works....I have to restart printer, after it works. In http://localhost:631/printers I see that the URI device is different http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/9299/hpcupsnc9.jpg (Deskjet_F2200 is HP2 and Deskjet_F2280 is HP1). I have same problems with mandriva (hplip 2.8.9). With mepis 8 (hplip 2.8.6) I haven't this problem, I configure printer only with HP Device Manager but I don't see the ink level.
