Note that outside of tmux, there is no problem. I use utf-8 in my /etc/sysconfig/language and the problem isn't present in xterm with tmux (but it's in roxterm and lxterminal with tmux). In the paste before creating my own scripts customized for my model I used to use acpi-eeepc-generic http://code.google.com/p/acpi-eeepc-generic/ this project is well done and can handle several models of EeePc, supported models are EeePc 700, 701, 900, 900A, 901, 904HD, S101, 1000, 1000H, 1000HD, 1000HE, 1005HA, 1005-HA-H, 1005PE, 1008HA, 1201N, T91MT but also the new ones that are similar to these. It would be nice for EeePc owners have this package in Frugal's repo, if could be useful I made out a FrugalBuild although I have some doubts about the up2date control (the package has a suffix after the version number) and about two rc.d file present in this package. I am running GNOME as my desktop environment. The block's contents remain untouched, even when I move other windows over that part of the screen. When I do move windows, they appear behind the corrupted block. Even if I switch to another virtual desktop the block's contents appear on the screen. To clear the corruption I need to log out and in again.
