The source of all the problems was a HDD failure and even though we had backup, we had no RAID under the server, so it was hard to restore it. Currently, it installs what packages selected it finds on the CD's given, but doesn't ask for mirrors, and doesn't warn what selected packages will be missing. I really like this suggestion because it solves a common problem, that you don't know precisely what media you need to download, even if you know which groups you are going to select. For most users, downloading CDs 1 and 2 are enough to get a graphical desktop installed, and any other packages could be downloaded directly from the mirrors. Carl, I wonder if the command "pacman -Qo /usr/share/icons/Vanilla-DMZ/cursors/arrow" might help? The problem is that the theme includes icons for various icons for mouse cursors, which are already on your PC. IIRC the Vanilla-DMZ cursor theme is provided by a Frugalware package, so perhaps you could remove that package and install the *-airlines" theme instead?
