From bubblexburst at fastmail.fm Mon Jan 17 18:47:12 2005 From: bubblexburst at fastmail.fm (bubblexburst) Date: Mon Jan 17 18:51:45 2005 Subject: [Frugalware-users] few questions Message-ID: <41EBFA20.4090600@fastmail.fm> Good evening! First of all I would like to say that Frugalware is a great distro...the best i've ever tried! Now I have few questions: -I noticed that since I installed Frugalware I can no longer send file through Amsn and when using amule i got a low id. Is there a firewall that starts at boot by default? if yes how can i disable it or open the ports i need? I'm behind a router with firewall and I already manually opened the ports, and when I used other Linux Os distros i did not have this problem! Thank you in advance keep the good work, Frugalware is amazing! (run pacman -Q iptables to check) iptables should install /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall anyway: /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall stop is equivalent to 'service firewall stop' this stops the firewall. if you want to disable firewall (so that frugalware will not start it on boot) run 'service firewall del' (as root) udv / greetings, VMiklos -- Developer of Frugalware Linux, to make things frugal - http://frugalware.org
