Frugalware is a general purpose linux distribution, designed for intermediate users (who are not afraid of text mode).
We try to make Frugalware as simple as possible while not forgetting to keep it comfortable for the user. We try to ship fresh and stable software, as close to the original source as possible, because in our opinion most software is the best as is, and doesn’t need patching.
The Frugalware Developer Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Frugalware 1.2pre2, the second technical preview of the upcoming 1.2 stable release.

Introduced devtmpfs: you can now exclude /dev from backups, along with /proc and /sys.

KMS is now enabled by default in Frugalware-current. It’s recommended to read the relevant part of the upgrade documentation before you upgrade to avoid unexpected results.
With the release of Getorin, the support for Anacreon is discontinued. It is highly recommended to upgrade to our new stable release, as there will be no more security and bug fixes for Anacreon.
We have released FSA589 to FSA616 for Solaria. That means 28 security problems were issued in half a year.
